The Loch Ness Monster : Water Spirit Empty

Present day beliefs in lake monsters such as the Loch Ness Monster or "Nessie" are associated with the old legends of kelpies. There are accounts of loch monsters have changed over the ages, originally describing creatures with a horse-like appearance; they claimed that the "kelpie" would come out of the lake and turn into a horse. When a tired traveler would get on the back of the kelpie, it would gallop into the loch and devour its prey. This myth successfully kept children away from the loch, as was its purpose. The kelpie of folklore has been transformed into a more realistic and contemporary notion of the creature. Believers counter that long-dead witnesses could only compare the creature to that with which they were familiar, and they were not familiar with plesiosaurs.

Name: Esme
Nickname: Nessie, Champ, Chessie
Occupation: "Second" in command. She is also the soul and embodiment of the Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, Lake Champlain of North America, and Chesapeake Bay of Maryland, USA.
Personality: She is extremely shy of humans and is only witnessed by accident. She takes her position as overseer quite seriously and even more so as the guardian of her lakes. She is kind, altruistic, and one would imagine, shy. However, she is dangerous when angered.
Clothing: When in her human form, she dresses in a loose, flowing gown which is almost always white in color. It reaches to her ankles and the material is sewn in a way that it has a ripple effect. It resembles quite closely to a ruffled toga. She also wears a forehead tiara constructed from jade and silver.
Pictures: N/A
Abilities: In a sense, she can control water. She can form waves, currents, and other natural occurrences, however, when she feels threatened she can manipulate water to do anything that she wishes. She can sing; her songs often used to soothe and relax anyone who hears it. She is pretty decent at fighting and she sometimes carries around a rapier sword.
Also, she can breathe underwater in any form.
Forms: Anthro, sea serpent, kelpie, naiad

Anthropomorphic:

Whenever she takes on her human form, it always appears the same. She desires to resemble humans as much as possible, but is unable to due to some unchangeable features such as her hair and eye color.

Her hair has a rich green hue like seaweed, appearing almost teal in sunlight. It is luxuriously long,
falling past her waist at all one length. It constantly has a 'tousled' sort of look, but not enough so where it'd be considered messy. Also, her hair curls slightly toward the end. She sometimes wears it in one long braid, but this varies from time to time.

Her eyes are warm, almost golden in color. The skin is a fair-toned olive and she bears no scars. Her body type is slender, but not so much so that she appears thin and gangly. She stands at 5'4".

Sea Serpent:

Not completely eel-like in shape, this form has four flipper-like appendages on either side of her body.

Her neck is long and sleek, almost snakelike. The scales are slippery smooth, similar to that of a serpent and are sea-green in color throughout her body, turning light/milky toward her underbelly. Her eyes are large, deep, and completely yellow. Her movements are very graceful in this form, swaying from side to side across the water.

She is not as large as legend dictates. From head to tail she is about 20 feet, her neck being 4ft and her tail being 3ft.

Kelpie:

She can take the form of a beautiful white horse (also known as kelpie). Her body-type is slender, elegant, and breathtaking, but she rarely exits the water. Her hide is crystal white, so much so that it's almost glowing. Her long, lustrous mane is constantly dripping, even when she's been out of the water for a while. Her skin is like that of a seal, smooth, but is as cold as ice when touched.

She can create illusions to keep herself hidden, keeping only her eye above water to scout the surface, much like the illusion of a fish's pupil.

Naiad:

In this form, her hair is extremely long and reaches almost to her knees. It becomes transparent toward the end and blends into the water/wherever she is.

Her eyes are brighter in this form, almost luminescent. Although, they are closed a lot of the time and open only when she is angered or saddened. Also when she speaks. Although this is rare, she may sometimes sing an unearthly tune during the night to relax nearby dwellers.

Her body is also nude in this form, however, it is a lot like her hair: solid toward her upper body, gradually becoming transparent. At night, her body gives off a dim glow.
